SOMEONE IS TRYING TO KILL
CLAIRE MARTELLI . . .
After surviving a brutal assault at the home of her vacationing business partner and estranged husband, Claire is haunted by a recurring nightmare. The foreboding dream plays-out like a black-and-white home video, but the innocent scenes of childhood are insidiously spliced with memories of the attack. The dream fades to red as a shadowy figure emerges from the shadows. Try as she might, she can't lift the veil obscuring the face of the specter.
At the age of forty, Claire Martelli files for divorce from the wealthy architect, E. Forde Chadwick.
Now, recognizing her need to recover a sense of balance in her life as well as to distance herself from her soon-to-be-ex, Claire travels to Paris on a buying trip in the company of her mother and sister.
The comradery of the three women, along with the burgeoning attentions of Malcolm Sunderland, the Englishman that Claire literally falls for, lull her into a false sense of security--until more attempts are made on her life and she suspects that Malcolm is somehow part of the Paris incidents.
Claire's psychological nightmares ultimately lead her to come to terms with her past to discover who is stalking her now--on the streets of Paris, and in her dreams.
